15 Great Baseball Walkup Songs

Baseballsongs

The crack of the bat, the scent of hot buttered popcorn, and, hey, is that Journey’s Steve Perry trying to get a stadium sing-along started? (He’s a crazy Giants fan.) This week, we’re celebrating that grand old American game, baseball.

Besides the home runs and stolen bases, one of the great things about modern baseball are the heart-pounding snippets of music blasted in-between plays. Whether it’s metal, country, hip-hop, or a player’s wife’s single (yes, we’re talking to you, Ben Zobrist), today’s pro-baseball players get to show off their individuality by choosing the walkup songs played aloud as they get up to bat or stroll onto the pitcher’s mound.

So whether you’re getting ready to watch the World Series with your bros, or just the weekly game with your kids, here are 15 great baseball walkup songs to get you in that relaxed, beer-sipping, and peanut-crunching mood. Make a MyMusicCloud playlist and stream it through your smart TV during the 7th inning stretch, if you like.

Hey Jack, it’s a fact, the show’s back in town. And, by show, we mean America’s favorite pro sport, football! So break out your favorite jerseys and beer koozies, and get ready to drop that bass, because we’re going to help you make a killer football song playlist.

But first, it helps to know what the real grid-iron gangstas are listening to. Billboard.com recently polled several pro-football players about which songs made their pre-game football playlists, and the answers are pretty surprising.

Sure, there was a lot of T.I., Drake, Wiz Khalifa, and Young Jeezy, but there was also Sum 41, Smash Mouth, and Everclear (from Minnesota Viking linebacker Audie Cole); some Whitney Houston and Sade (Really, Dallas Cowboy Justin Durant?); and a little Kaskade and Tiesto (Geoff Schwartz of The New York Giants).

But, seriously, football fans, even though hip-hop has been quickly eclipsing rock at many parking lot parties, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC and Florida Georgia Line are still holding their own. And some of the hottest rappers, like Eminem, are combining the two for even more basspower.

So, here are some of the best, classic, tailgate-crashing, stadium-rocking, football pump-up songs we could find, along with some new jams and some feel-good country anthems for the Boys of Fall.

Got MyMusicCloud? By importing any of these into your music collection, or buying them from our Music Store (starting at 19 cents), you can flag these to a portable Football Playlist in no time.

First, log in to your account from a computer or tablet, select the PLAYLISTS tab at top, and click “Create New Playlist.” Once you name it, open any track and hit the blue triangle that appears at the bottom right. Select “Add to Playlist” and highlight the list you want. Just like that, you’ll have the honeys dancing in their seats at the pre-game party too.

  1. Juelz Santana – The Second Coming
  2. The Rolling Stones – Sympathy for the Devil
  3. Kongos – Come with Me Now
  4. Eminem – Berzerk
  5. Kanye West GOOD Music — To the World
  6. T.I. featuring Eminem – Touchdown
  7. Meek Mill featuring Rick Ross – I’m the Boss
  8. DMX – X Gon’ Give It to Ya
  9. The Heavy – How You Like Me Now (Original)
  10. David Guetta featuring Sia – Titanium
  11. Jay-Z Featuring Rihanna, Kanye West – Run This Town
  12. Daft Punk – Harder Better Faster Stronger
  13. Jay-Z – Public Service Announcement
  14. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (Dubstep Remix) – Can’t Hold Us
  15. Coolio – Gangsta’s Paradise
  16. The Notorious B.I.G. — Hypnotize

It’s a Barbell…It’s a Track Suit…It’s MyMusicCloud!

Last month, we got great feedback from you about our top 10 Valentine’s Day playlist. We wanted to follow up with another 21st century “mix tape”—this one geared toward getting fit!

As with all MyMusicCloud playlists, this one can start at home while you’re gearing up for your workout. Switch to your mobile phone, and your songs will continue playing in one seamless stream as you stretch, warm up, and get into the meat of your workout.

We wanted to start you off with a few suggestions. Here are our staff’s top 10 favorite workout songs:

10. “Party Rock Anthem” (LMFAO): Rap madness. Check. Mental dancers—gyrating. Check. Internal cheering section. Check! You really can’t listen to this song and not shake it…

9.  “I Gotta Feeling” (Black Eyed Peas): This is the 21st century party track.

8. “Get the Party Started” (Pink): Continuing on the party theme….Pink brings it on all registers.

7. “My Life Would Suck Without You (Kelly Clarkson): This is our workout tribute…to love.

6. “It’s My Life” (Bon Jovi): That sinister growl, those liberating lyrics! This really should be our national anthem!

5. “Assassin” (Muse): This song is what would happen if every guitarist were skilled enough to treat his instrument like a drum set.

4.  “Sex on Fire” (Kings of Leon): What’s a really rockin’ run or workout if it doesn’t feel a little like sex on fire?

3. “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” (Beyoncé): The ubiquitous 2008 pop tune makes a comeback—on your headphones!

2. “Becoming Insane” (Infected Mushroom): You’ll feel like you’re in a daytime nightclub…being DJ’d by a crew of Japanimation characters.

1. “Killing in the Name (Rage against the Machine): Remember the primal scream? It’s back! in a song.
