LeBron James Vs. the Warriors: Basketball Pump Up Playlists

How can you not be inspired by that Cleveland Cavaliers’ intro song “Carmina Burana”? It’s appropriately epic as the Cavs leave blood, sweat, and tears on the basketball courts in Cleveland and Oakland this month. Playing rivals the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals, LeBron James‘ performance has become so heroic that even die-hard LeBron haters are softening towards King James.

So how do these basketball warriors (musically) rise to their ever-dunking best?

“I know where I want to be before each game, and the music is how I get there,” LeBron tells ESPN magazine. “I allow myself to feel the music and get lost in my preparation.”

Here’s LeBron James’ actual pregame pump-up playlist (circa 2013):

“Trap Back Jumpin” by T.I.

“Get Right” by Young Jeezy

“I’m Different” by 2 Chainz

“Diamonds” (Remix) by Rihanna

“Remember You” by Wiz Khalifa (featuring The Weeknd)

“Clique” by Jay-Z, Big Sean, Kanye West

“Gone by Wiz Khalifa” (featuring Juicy J)

“Conflicted” by Jerreau

“Long Live ASAP” by A$AP Rocky

“Still D.R.E.” by Dr. Dre.

But the Warriors are also in superhero mode. Here’s what they’re listening to, according to Billboard.com.

Player: Draymond Green
“Drinks on Us” – The Weeknd
“Flicka Da Wrist” – Chedda da Connect
“10 Bands” – Drake

Player: Justin Holiday
“Know Yourself” – Drake
“10 Bands” – Drake
“I’m Turnt” – Lecrae

Player: Harrison Barnes
“King Kunta” – Kendrick Lamar
“Fire Squad” – J. Cole
“G.O.M.D.” – J. Cole

And, of course, there’s the Drake song, Blessings, that is the favorite of Stephen Curry‘s daughter.

We can’t promise these jams will help your game, but with a playlist like this, at least you’ll feel like you’re flying with the basketball gods.
