The Top 6 European Summer Music Festivals

Roskilde, June 29-July 7, Roskilde, Denmark: This giant rock/dance showcase stars Kraftwerk, Metallica, The National, Queens of the Stone Age, Rihanna, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Azealia Banks, Disclosure, Airbourne, Miguel, Slipknot, Kendrick Lamar.

Latitude 2013, July 18-21, Henham Park, Suffolk, U.K.: Bloc Party, Modest Mouse, Calexico, Kraftwerk, Hot Chip, Foals, Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Alt-J perform alongside  comedians, theatre companies, poets, writers and even a children’s area.

Monegros Desert Festival, July 20, Fraga, Spain: This one-day mega-rave draws 40,000 revelers and promises Public Enemy, Bloody Beetroots, Underworld, Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice and many more DJs.

Reading and Leeds, August 23-25, held in Reading and Leeds, U.K. respectively (different venues/same lineup): Headliners Billie Joe Armstrong and Green Day join Alt-J, Eminem, Fall Out Bay, Haim, Johnny Marr, Tame Impala, Nine Inch Nails, The Lumineers, Editors, Phoenix, Azealia Banks, Disclosure, City and Colour, Haim, Alex Clare and Knife Party, just to name a few.

T in the Park (actually held in an airfield), July 12-14, 2013, Balado, Scotland: Raise a pint to Rihanna, The Killers, Calvin Harris, Stereophonics, the Script, Mumford & Sons, Modest Mouse, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
